NPD: Best ever November for Xbox 360

Xbox 360 platform holder Microsoft is in positive mood this morning following a good performance in

NPD’s North American November sales stats

that showed the best ever month for its next-gen console.

Along with 836,000 console sales, the format also boasted $298 million in third party software sales. Following on from what Microsoft claimed was a three-to-one sales lead over PS3 over the Black Friday weekend, its machine went on to better PS3’s sales by a ratio of two-to-one and beat the combined sales of PS3 and PS2.

Microsoft also claims to be enjoying the industry’s best-ever software attach rate, which currently stands at 8.1.

A few details about Xbox Live were also revealed, including the fact that the service currently sees over 1.5 million transactions and four million game sessions every day, with 30,000 pieces of content currently available to download over the network.
