Official: THQ to publish 50 Cent game

The will-they-won’t-they saga surrounding THQ’s publishing of ex-Vivendi property 50 Cent: Blood On The Sand has come to an end: after the

BBFC classified the title

for the publisher.

Rumours first circulated that THQ had bought the rights to the Swordfish Studios-developed game earlier this week, when the firm’s name appered next to the game in the Australian government’s entertainment Classification Database.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 game – which the BBFC has classified as 18-rated – was a casualty of the merger between Activision and Vivendi, which created Activision Blizzard.

It was formerly on Vivendi’s release slate under the firm’s Sierra label, but didn’t make it to Activison Blizzard’s list in the summer.

A THQ rep told MCV the firm could not comment on "the rumour".
