Andromeda this afternoon issued a statement explaining that police have sealed the area for ‘an estimated 72 hours whilst it is made safe and a structural damage assessment is carried out’. Staff on-site at the time of the explosions escaped injury.
The statement, issued by MD Matthew Allen, continued: “Until such time as the Police and Fire Chief confirm, Andromeda Logistics is unable to give any accurate guidance as to when we will have full access to existing client inventory.
“To this end, we have informed all of our partners that, for the time being, existing orders that have not been shipped will not be able to be dispatched, and that any orders for goods held at the Hemel Hempstead DC will not be fulfilled in the immediate future.
“We have immediate arrangements at two local facilities and will be fully operational from Monday 12th from 08:30. All new deliveries have been re-directed into one of the new facilities and we will be dispatching orders from today."
Customers with general enquiries are advised to contact Andromeda on 01442 206 900 or andromedalogistics@yahoo.co.uk.
