A record number of exhibitors will flock to Gamescom 2011 when it kicks off in August.
Companies attending include big-name publishers such as Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, EA and Ubisoft, as well as online and browser game firms such as NCsoft and Trion Worlds. Developer Valve will make an appearance following its absence at E3 2011.
Last year Gamescom drew a record 505 exhibitors and 254,000 attendees – up from 2009’s 245,000. This year organisers say exhibitor numbers will exceed 505.
Gamescom 2011 will feature over 120,000 square metres of exhibition space. There will be an entertainment area, business area and central community stand for the UK which is this year’s partner country. The latter will host several international guests.
Gerald Böse, board chairman of organisers Koelnmesse, said: “Cologne is ready for the next edition of the greatest gaming event in Europe.”
Gamescom 2011 runs from August 17th to August 21st in Germany’s Koelnmesse in Cologne.
