Pokemon Bank and Transporter 3DS apps arrive this month

The Pokemon Bank and Pokemon Transporter apps will arrive on 3DS later this month, Nintendo has announced.

The company revealed new details on the apps as part of today’s Nintendo Direct conference, including word that the both apps will launch through the 3DS eShop on December 27th.

The Pokemon Bank allows players to store up to 3,000 pokemon in one place, while Pokemon Transporter allows players to transfer pokemon from the four Pokemon Black & White titles to the Pokemon X & Y games.

The apps themselves aren’t free, but users will have the option to access a 30-day free trial until January 31st, 2014.

Further, Nintendo is gifting a free Celebi pokemon to users who access Pokemon Bank before September 30th, 2014 – including those who opt for the free trial only. Meaning interested parties should take advantage before the end of next month when the trial offer ends.
