Precursor Games founding member arrested on child pornography charges

Precursor Games founding member and former Silicon Knights director Ken McCulloch has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of involvement with child pornography.

Polygon reports McCulloch was arrested by the Niagara Regional Police earlier this week, after detectives executed a search warrant at his home in St. Catharines, Ontario.

McCulloch is charged with one count each of possession of child pornography, making child pornography available and accessing child pornography, according to police. An investigation had apparently been ongoing since April.

In response to McCulloch’s arrest, Precursor has removed his employee profile from the studio’s website and CEO Paul Caporicci has posted on the developer’s official forums stating that he’s no longer with the company.

"Having just learned of these disturbing charges today and based on the serious nature of them, Ken McCulloch is no longer affiliated in any way with Precursor Games," Caporicci wrote.

Prior to the arrest, McCulloch had worked at Silicon Knights for two decades before joining Precursor as ‘Lore Keeper’, ‘World Builder’ and ‘Dream Merchant’ at the studio.
