Retail giant Sainsbury’s has been the first supermarket to go aggressive on pricing this year. But it’s not new software the grocer is discounting – the firm has instead slashed up to 25 per cent off new games hardware
That means the 160GB PS3 is down to £157.99, 3DS is available for a mere £119.99, while a Black Wii with a copy of Mario Kart can be picked up for £97.49.
Elsewhere, the PlayStation Move Starter Pack has been reduced to £42.99.
The deals started on Wednesday (November 23rd), and follows a similar promotion on Xbox 360 – which saw the 250GB edition fall to just £154.99 in-store.
“This is a great offer and one that we are sure will be popular with customers in the run up to Christmas,” said Sainsbury’s games manager Gurdeep Hunjan.
“Gamers are increasingly aware that Sainsbury’s is the place to come for the best deals on consoles, games and accessories and this deal will reinforce that.”

They were previously offering the 160GB for £199.99 with 2 games, you could choose from Fifa 12, Battlefield 3 or Lego Pirates.
As such at £157.99 its not any better value than it has been for the last few months, though yet again - its cheaper than official distribution.

Some people don't want Battlefield or Fifa just a console. For that its an amazing deal. The fact is Fifa 12, Battlefield (Lego Pirates???) are available for well below the RRP if you look around.
