Currently, US and Japanese PS3 owners are able to download a range of PSOne titles that are playable on PSP. However, this new update looks set to make upcoming games playable on the PS3 itself.
This service has yet to hit the European PlayStation Network, though this update could be an indication that its arrival is near.
Another feature of the PS3 update includes vibration support for compatible PS2 and PSOne titles.
In other PS3 news, a fresh batch of PlayStation Network Platform games has been announced for Sony’s PlayStation Store. First up is Calling All Cars, a cartoon-inspired racer, which will be available on May 18th. Also on the way are shooting duo Nucleus and Super Stardust HD, which will be released on May 25th and June 15th respectively.
