PS3 price cut in Japan

The latest Sony revelations will give US and European retailers hope of a similar cut. There is no change to the 60gb version ahead of the Japanese PS3 launch on November 11th. Kuturagi also confirmed that the lower-end console will support HDMI, giving the 20gb version digital high definition output.

"What is important is that we get more consoles sold to make up for the price cut and get more game makers and chip makers in our camp," said Kutaragi, as he kicked off his keynote speech at TGS. While there was little in terms of other announcements, Kuturagi did speak in general terms about Sony’s vision of networked gaming.
