The Indian PlayStation Store has been updated with PS4 content ahead of the console’s European launch.
The new update gives us a pretty good indication of PS4 game prices for India, although retail prices do tend to differ.
Here’s a list of games for PS4 available on the Indian store and their prices:
- Angry Birds Star Wars - Rs 2,149
- Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag - Rs 3,799
- Battlefield 4 - Rs 3,799
- Call of Duty: Ghosts - Rs 3,799
- FIFA 14 - Rs 3,799
- Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition - Rs 3,499
- Just Dance 2014 - Rs 2,999
- Killzone: Shadow Fall - Rs 3,499
- Knack - Rs 3,499
- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes - Rs 3,499
- Putty Squad - Rs 899
- Super Motherload - Rs 1,176
- Trine 2 - Rs 1,428
For certain games – Injustice, Assassin’s Creed 4, Call of Duty, Battlefield 4 – you can upgrade to the PS4 version if you already own the PS3 version. The additional fee for that is Rs 600.
At Rs 3,799, FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4 are significantly cheaper on PSN than the planned retail price of Rs 4,499. The biggest downside to buying digitally though is the massive download sizes of up to 45 GB.
With the PS3-PS4 upgrade fee at just Rs 600, buying the retail PS3 version of Battlefield 4 and then upgrading to the PS4 version (Rs 3,499 + Rs 600) ends up Rs 400 cheaper than the game’s planned retail price of Rs 4,499.
An important piece of information in that list is the prices of Sony’s first-party games. Sony’s digital prices tend to be lower than their retail prices, so with Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack at Rs 3,499, we would assume retail prices of close to the Rs 4,000 mark.
Third-party cross-gen games like Assassin’s Creed 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts are both priced Rs 1,000 more for PS4 (Rs 3,799) than their PS3 (Rs 2,799) counterparts.
