PS4 is getting PC remote play

Sony has said that it intends to introduce PC remote play to PS4 in the near future.

The functionality won’t be included in the upcoming 3.50 system update, but is in development and will, according to Sony, be released soon”. Also on the horizon is Dailymotion live streaming support.

This will allow users stream games being played on the PS4 to their PC, freeing up the TV and allowing users to play their PS4 is a range of locations. Whether this will be limited to local networks or allow for play over the internet remains to be seen.

Xbox One owners with Windows 10 PCs are currently able to do the same thing. Sony already offers Vita owners the chance to remote play PS4 titles on their handheld.

As for patch 3.50, that will bring with it a few new features including the ability to appear offline. Users can choose to go off-grid at any time and even set their systems up to automatically appear offline when they log in.

Other new features include notifications for when friends come online, user event scheduling for planning gaming sessions and increased party visibility sharing.

Patch 3.50 will be released tomorrow (March 2nd) for beta users.
