PSP software slashed as Sony readies final push

Sony has announced a number of significant discounts on the price of digital PSP software.

The move follows Sony’s announcement at Gamescom last week that it is to launch a remade and discounted version of the PSP, dubbed the E-1000, in Europe this autumn.

Highlights of the sale include Sid Meier’s Pirates (down from 11.49 to 3.99), GTA Vice City Stories (6.29), Disgaea Infinite (7.99), Half Minute Hero (7.99) and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (3.99).

The timing is also fortunate considering Play.com’s current sale on PSPgo. The black SKU can be had for just 85 right now, and that includes ten free game downloads.

However, PSP hardware is increasingly hard to find elsewhere, with many online retailers simply no longer stocking the device. Whether this will change with the discounted model’s arrival remains to be seen.
