The speculation that Sony is preparing to reveal a redesigned version of its PSP handheld console have come to light once again.
Several news sources yesterday claimed that the new hardware will boast 8GB of internal RAM, a brighter screen and possibly even a touch screen. It will also allegedly continue to support the UMD format.
Spong reports that sources it has spoken to claim that there’s no doubt PSP2 is on the horizon, stating: “While we are standing by the request for anonymity, it does appear that certain developers have already been given an inkling that PSP2 games should be in their budgets and on their schedules before the year is out.”
Sony has to date denied the existence of a PSP2.
