Entries for the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards in the category of interactive gaming opened yesterday, offering promising prizes to budding young developers.
The competition will accept submissions until 13th January 2012, and 18-30 year old Australians can submit up to one DVD worth of their gaming content (multiple games if they like) in a bid to win the grand prize.
The winners will be flown to South by Southwest in Texas next year, as well as receive AUD$5000 in cash.
The money-can't-buy experience, however, will come in the form of mentorship from Ashley Ringrose and Brad Eldridge (pictured), directors of Sydney-based Soap Creative. Soap is a digital creative agency deeply entrenched in the world of adver-gaming, and is one of the examples of a key growth area of the gaming sector at this time.
Submissions for the award are able to be broad, but are centred around interactive, web and graphic design.
