RailSimulator co-dev Oovee sees Steam sales success with Spintires

A hardcore driving simulation called Spintires is currently the second best selling game on Steam.

The UK-made game was the subject of a successful Kickstarter that was funded in July 2013 having beaten its 40k funding goal, raising over 60k.

It currently sits behind only the on-sale Just Cause 2 on Steam’s bestseller list and ahead of Early Access hit The Forest. Kotaku reports that it recently topped the rankings, thanks in no small part to a dedicated and vocal following across a number of YouTube channels.

The thrust of the title is the challenge of driving a range of heavy vehicles across rough, deformable terrain – the most notable of which is some very, very deep mud.

Members of the studio have previously worked on a range of notable titles including Halo: Anniversary, Godmode and Inversion. Oovee itself, which has been around since 2007, is best known for developing DLC for RailSimulator.com.
