Razer USA will start taking pre-orders for its Windows 8-powered gaming tablet Edge this Friday, with the company aiming to start shipping out units before the end of next month.
When pre-orders for the tablet open later this week, Razer will also allow customers to pre-order accessories including the dual analog controller shell, console dock, and extended battery.
The aforementioned add-ons will ship alongside the Edge itself in “late March,” and the company also plans to release a keyboard dock during Q3 of this year.
The Razer Edge features a 10.1-inch multitouch display and will be available in two configurations. The base model packs an Intel Core i5 processor and a 64 GB SSD for $999.99, while the Razer Edge Pro carries a Core i7 processor and a 128 GB or 256 GB SSD for $1,299.99 and $1,449.99 respectively.
Head to Razer’s official site for a list of US and Canadian retailers set to carry the product. It's unclear if or when the Edge will launch in other territories outside of North America, but no official plans have been mentioned so far.
