Sony has unveiled a redesign for the PlayStation Store element of PSN.
The whole storefront has been given an image-led overhaul as well as tweaks to the UI used to browse different sections such as games and movies. Game IP and characters will be used to spruce up the look of each individual page.
The entire screen will be used to display content with the UI scaling depending on the resolution being used. Everything is also constructed around the idea of carousels, with content scrolling from right to left.
Search has been revamped and will offer suggestions as you input text. Abbreviations will also be recognised and content for individual titles will be grouped.
There are more filters, too, with users able to search titles by type, price and even peripheral support. Content for different systems (PS3, Vita, PSP) will also be more clearly segmented and defined, meaning users will no longer have to browse through a game’s details to learn exactly which devices it is compatible with.
The new look store will go live in Europe on Wednesday October 17th with a US rollout on October 23rd.
