Replay turns to Kickstarter for Leisure Suit Larry reboot

Having announced plans to resurrect the Leisure Suit Larry IP in late 2011, developer Replay Games has turned to crowd-funding site Kickstarter to bring life to the project.

And clearly the plea has been well received – at the time of writing the project has raised $517,842 from 11,587 backers. There are six days left until donations close.

Having hit its half a million target, work can now get started on its HD remake of 1987 title Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Several attempts to breathe new life into Larry have come and gone since its heyday in the 1980s.

In 2009 Codemasters was the surprise publisher of Team17’s Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, but that was the last we’ve seen of the mature-orientated” character.
