The game sold a hearty 400,000 copies in Japan in its opening week, and a similar performance will most likely be revealed in the UK later today.
A statement from the publisher said: “Thanks to the company’s proprietary engine, the MT Framework, Capcom was able to make Resident Evil 5 a multi-platform title, giving a vast number of players the opportunity to enjoy the game.”
In addition, Capcom has also revealed that its Resident Evil 5 demo, which is available on Xbox Live and PSN, has been downloaded 4m times since its release.
