RETAIL BIZ: Napoleon repeats Empires success

Napoleon: Total War has followed in the footsteps of its 2009 predecessor by seizing the top spot in the ELPSA GfK Chart-Track PC charts.

The game matched the success of Empire: Total War, which debuted at No.1 in the PC charts when it launched last March. Napoleon knocks last week’s No.1 – fellow Sega title Aliens vs Predator – down to No.3.

The publisher recently told MCV it expects Napoleon to become a mainstay of the PC Top 10 for the majority of 2010, further mimicking the success of Empire: Total War.

Sadly, Napoleon: Total War failed to match Empire’s performance in the All Formats Charts. While the 2009 title debuted at No.1, Napoleon settles for twelfth place – outsold by other new entries Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sony’s triumphant Heavy Rain.
