Retail cuts Wii to below £100

As predicted by MCV, games retail has cut the price of Wii to under 100.

GAME, Gamestation and Asda are the first retailers to stock the new Mario Kart bundle (and the existing Wii Sports Resort bundle) for just 99.99. This applies to both in-store and online.

HMV has the console on sales for 115, while Play.com and ShopTo are selling the machine for 120.

Nintendo announced it would be reducing the trade price of Wii earlier this month, and estimated a retail price of 130. But MCV understood stores were preparing to go as low as 100.

Head of UK communications for GAME Group Neil Ashurst said: The opportunity to buy the Nintendo Wii for under 100 is a fantastic chance for those who previously haven’t experienced the Wii. We are delighted to offer this deal to our customers."
