Rising Star signs BIT.TRIP range

The six classic BIT.TRIP video games are coming to UK retail for the first time.

Rising Star Games has signed a deal with Gaijin Games to release BIT.TRIP Complete on Wii and BIT.TRIP Saga on 3DS during the first three months of 2012.

The BIT.TRIP titles are rhythm adventure games that were originally released as digital titles and primarily over Nintendo’s WiiWare service. Each of the six games in the series boast different gameplay experiences and ‘80s style visuals, with players able to follow the adventures of chief protagonist CommanderVideo.

Now all six games are coming to retail in two compilations for Wii and 3DS.

As well as all six titles – Beat, Core, Void, Runner, Fate and Flux – these compilations also include new difficulty modes, video, image and audio galleries, 120 new challenges spanning all six games, online leaderboards and letters from the director.

The Wii game BIT.TRIP Complete also comes with an original soundtrack CD, featuring the iconic music from all six games in the series.

We’re hugely excited about bringing BIT.TRIP Saga and BIT.TRIP Complete to a European audience,” said Rising Star Games MD Martin Defries. With such a unique look and critically acclaimed gameplay, we’re expecting big things from both titles, and can’t wait to bring these to gamers across the continent.”

Gaijin Games co-founder Alex Neuse added: Everyone at Gaijin Games is very excited to have BIT.TRIP Saga and BIT.TRIP Complete join Rising Star Games’ excellent and varied library of games. From a publisher who literally has something to offer for every type of gamer, we couldn’t be happier with this perfect fit of a European publishing partner.”

Rising Star last week announced it is expanding its range of Cave-developed shooters. It is handling the UK release of Akai Katana which is due during the first half of 2012.
