Ubisoft has taken on former Konami man and 13-year industry veteran Michael Rotchell as trade sector manager of the grocery and non-specialist retail business, effective November 19th.

Rotchell (pictured) began his career at the GAME store in Leeds before opening and running a new store in York for over a year. After this he moved out of the retail side of the business and joined ISM in 1997, where he spent two and a half years covering North East England and all of Scotland for big name publishers including Sony, Microsoft, Activision and THQ.

He joined his last employer Konami in 1999 where he has played a key part in the publisher’s success in the UK working on high profile titles such as Pro Evolution Soccer.

“I am delighted to have been able to recruit and welcome such a respected and knowledgeable person within the industry,” said Darren Bowen, sales director at Ubisoft.

“Michael has excellent relationships with our retail partners and will bring many attributes to bolster an already strong team. Ubisoft has an incredible line-up going forward and it is important to have a person of Michael’s quality join us at this key time.”
