With both teams finishing on 64 points, the stage was set for them to have a sing-off on karaoke game Lips from the evening’s sponsor, Xbox 360. However, after a thrilling show from both sides, the jury was still split.
Turner Media finished in second place with 61 points, with Amazon in fourth and Future Publishing in fifth spot.
Other companies that entered teams included Koch Media, The Sun, Play V, EA, Ubisoft, HMV.com, D3Publisher, Microsoft and Handle Recruitment.
But it wasn’t just the overall winners that picked up prizes: there were ‘spot’ prizs in each round from sponsors of the evening, too – which went to a variety of teams on the night.
Amazon won bottles ‘festive bubbly’ from 505 Games, whilst Sainsbury’s picked up Ben 10 goodybags from D3P.
Turner Media team members each won a copy of Mirror’s Edge, Need For Speed and Dead Space from EA, whilst The Sun team members each won £50 iTunes vouchers from Koch. D3p won copies of Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party and Shaun White Snowboarding from Ubisoft.
The big winners of spot prizes were Koch Media, who picked up a night out on the tiles playing pub golf with Handle Recruitment, Red Bull-branded DS’s and a Turner Media goodybag, including £50 of John Lewis vouchers.
The quiz’s overall winners won an Xbox 360 console each and 4,200 points.
