Saints Row IV moves 1m copies during first week

Deep Silver has announced that Saints Row IV has sold over 1m units in its first week at retail, calling it a smashing commercial success.”

Games Industry reports on the launch week milestone for Volition’s latest entry to the series, which was bolstered specifically by a major spike in PC sales versus the THQ published Saints Row: the Third.

CEO of parent company Koch Media Klemens Kundratitz spoke on the game’s start, complimenting Volition for being a driving force in the entertainment industry.

"We are incredibly happy of the reception for Saints Row IV as a critical and now a commercial success," Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz said.

"The development team at Volition is second-to-none as a driving creative force in the entertainment industry and we are very proud to have them as part of the Deep Silver family."

Breakdowns by territory and platform weren’t provided, though Deep Silver stated that the game is leading the charts in almost all major European countries” in its first week – adding that the game has earned the top spot in the UK, Germany and Benelux across all of its platforms.
