Alongside the use of Warner’s giant primary distribution network for picking, packing and shipping, SCi has the rights to a possible 22 new games based on key intellectual properties from the Warner Bros. portfolio – and that means a serious expansion of its studio portfolio and operations in general.
“A lot of the investment will be spent on increasing our development capacity, both in terms of our internal studios and working with third party groups,” said Cavanagh.
“We will be opening up studios in China and Canada, and another element will be accelerating our new media and online strategy, specifically mobile, casual games, digital downloads and episodic content, so those will be the two main focus for the investment. We will be looking at a selected number of potential acquisitions, particularly in the new media space, which we want to accelerate our presence in.”
