Sega Europe has announced the departure of its COO and president Jurgen Post after ten years with the company. Previously, Post served as managing director and senior vice president, before assuming his current role in 2012.
During his time at Sega Europe, Post streamlined the company’s European setup and doubled down on its newly formed pillar structure, which at the time was formed of Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive, Alien and Sonic the Hedgehog. Since then, Sega’s pillar structure has grown to include Relic Entertainment and Amplitude Studios, and the company recently acquired Crytek Black Sea as well – now known as Creative Assembly Sofia.
Post also oversaw partnership deals with Microsoft, Wargaming and Elex to licence existing IP, release new IP, build new franchises and instigate its ‘best practice PC conversions’ of Bayonetta, Valkyria Chronicles and Vanquish.

In the mean time, Sega Europe’s CFO John Ward will act as interim COO while the publisher looks for a replacement.
