Four more games companies have backed this year's Games Media Awards in association with Grainger Games.
These include Sega, cloud gaming service OnLive, digital distributor Green Man Gaming and media company The Games Tribe.
They join a range of sponsors for the Games Media Awards 2011 in association with Grainger Games including Sony, EA, Codemasters, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Nintendo 3DS, Konami, Activision, Namco Bandai, Rising Star, NCsoft and Gamescom. Fast-growing retailer Grainger Games is the event’s headline sponsor.
“We are delighted to partner with the GMAs for the third consecutive year,” Sega’s UK marketing director Amanda Farr told MCV. “The awards have become a highlight of the media social calendar and are a great opportunity to recognise the talent and creativity of the editorial community.”
OnLive founder and CEO Steve Perlman added: "There are few industries as fast-moving or technically-oriented as games, and the media that has grown up in step with these entertainment technologies has an incredibly challenging role to play in keeping consumers informed and driving the industry forward.
"With OnLive launching in the UK this autumn, the Games Media Awards are a great opportunity for us to show our support for the fantastic job these guys do, and we wish all nominees the very best of luck."
Richard Keith of The Games Tribe said: “The Games Tribe’s mission is to be the champion of independent games sites and journalism so the GMAs is a great fit for us. The event itself gets stronger every year and we’re really pleased to be supporting it again this year.”
