Sega recruits new marketing VP

Sega of America has named Sean Ratcliffe vice president of marketing.

Ratcliffe previously worked for Disney Interactive Studios as marketing director of EMEA, where he helped launch The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Spectrobes, and most recently, Turok.

Prior to working for Disney, Ratcliffe was employed by EA as European marketing director.
Ratcliffe will oversee product marketing, advertising and PR, and will report directly to president and COO of Sega of America, Simon Jeffery.

“Sean’s impressive accomplishments include managing the worldwide launch of hit titles like Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, the multi-million unit-seller, as well as playing a key role in Disney Interactive’s impressive market share growth,” said Jeffery. “These achievements, coupled with his proven ability to work on a worldwide scale, make Sean a fantastic asset at a global company like Sega.”
