Sega reports profit increase fueled by Total War: Rome II sales

Sega has revealed its latest six-month earnings report, showing a profit for the period thanks to the performance of Total War: Rome II.

GameSpot reports the publisher outlined a profit of roughly $11.24m during the six-month period ending September 30th for its consumer sector, which includes all games business.

Sega’s report points to Creative Assembly’s strategy sequel as a major boon to the company’s financial results. The title has sold more than 800k units since it launched in September, and based off pre-orders alone has been on track to become the biggest seller in the Total War franchise.

Sega also announced that Rome II has received the new $3 Blood & Gore DLC, adding "hundreds" of animations for actions such as decapitations, dismemberment, and "devastating” impalements.
