Sega's Alien: Isolation to star Ripley's daughter - report

Creative Assembly is making a first person Alien shooter for Sega.

That’s according to Kotaku, which claims to have it on good authority that Aliens: Isolation will be released for both current and next-gen consoles in 2014.

It is apparently inspired by “games like Dishonored and Bioshock” and uses “both stealth and horror elements”.

Creative Assembly, a studio best known for the strategic Total War series, is an interesting choice for an FPS game. Mind you, seeing how apparent FPS specialist Gearbox got on with Colonial Marines, a change of tact is perhaps understandable.

In fact, wary of the critical backlash that met that game, Sega has apparently already delayed Isolation once, having originally planned to announce the title at E3 this year.

The site says it will star Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, who is referenced in the special edition release of Aliens and was believed to have died while Ellen was in deep space flight.

It will be set on a single space station and will “for most of the game” have only a single Alien to deal with. Melee weapons are the focus.
