Simon Urquhart leaves Dixons Retail

Dixons Retail's PC gaming and components category manager Simon Urquhart has left the business.

As well as handling buying for PC World and Currys' gaming products, Urquhart was also responsible for opening Dixons Retail's Gaming Bunker in London, which lets consumers try out the latest PCs, accessories and games.

Several industry sources confirmed to MCV's sister site PCR that Urquhart is no longer a part of Dixons, and claimed that he had planned to open a total of ten gaming-specific stores for Dixons Retail.

Urquhart's LinkedIn profile also states that he worked for Dixons Retail between May 2010 and April 2014.

His profile reads: "I'm looking to work extensively in the electronic entertainment industry and become a major influence in the UK market Always willing to talk about opportunities to grow gaming and support good products and people."

His Twitter profile adds: "Re-tooling for another assault on the world of gaming."
