Having dismissed the Internet as something of a fad first time around, Murdoch has made some huge investments online in recent years, including the acquisition of IGN and Myspace.
The latest move may send a chill down the spine of any publisher involved in online gaming, as Sky has the funding to grab a potentially huge market share.
