Sold Out moves into digital publishing

Physical games label Sold Out has signed its first digital title.

The publisher will be releasing Unbox from British developer Prospect Games. The title was recently approved on Steam Greenlight, receiving 7,390 yes votes and 516 followers in just one fortnight. The title is set for launch in 2016.

Traditionally, Sold Out has been a physical publisher. Recently it has put out physical releases of digital titles for Team 17, such as The Escapists.

Sold Out is excited to be working with The Northern Development Powerhouse that is Prospect Games” said Sold Out’s boss, Garry Williams.

Andrew and his team are delivering a unique digital game and Sold Out will drive the volumes, deliver maximum revenues and extend the life cycle of what is a ‘Triple-I’ release.”

Prospect Games MD Andrew Bennison added: In the wake of the recent success of our Greenlight campaign for Unbox, Prospect Games was approached by a number of publishers.

"After examining many opportunities, we felt the offer from Sold Out will provide the vital services our business needs, giving us the best reach across both national and international markets. We can now focus entirely on making Unbox the best possible gaming experience we can.”
