It seems like such a natural fit that the real surprise is that it’s taken so long.
Sega has announced that its longstanding mascot and naturally gifted sprinter Sonic the Hedgehog is to at last star is his very own endless runner game.
It’s called Sonic Dash and is currently in development at Hardlight Studios for Apple iOS devices. It will apparently be released “very soon”.
Sega describes it as a spiritual follow-up to Sonic Jump. It’s set in the familiar surroundings of Seaside Hill, which we think looks pretty much like Green Hill. Online leaderboards will provide much of the focus.
An Android version is very likely although it was not mentioned in the initial press material.
