The key issue for the rest of the distribution market is Sony DADC’s plans to supply product – on behalf of the publishers it already works with in terms of duplication services – direct to retail, rather than those companies using third party firms such as Gem, Centresoft and Pinnacle.
“The new facilities are important for us in improving and expanding our product and services portfolio for the entertainment industry in the UK,” explained president Dieter Daum. “Merging these facilities with the Sony DADC network will further enable us to offer enhanced supply chain options like finishing on demand, fast replenishment and direct-to-retail shipments.”
