Sony partners with Vodafone for Vita in ANZ

Sony partners with Vodafone for Vita in ANZ

When the Playstation Vita hits ANZ shores on 23rd February next year, Vodafone will be the handheld's preferred mobile carrier.

A Vodafone sim card will be available right out of the box of the 3G/Wi-Fi Vita model, mirroring a deal struck with the telco in the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and France.

In Australia, Vodafone is aiming to improve its network service, with 1500 850MHz sites countrywide due by the middle of next year.

That said, the device will not be locked only to Vodafone, so consumers will still have a choice. It is a deal for Sony which will see the Playstation Vita ranged in Vodafone channels in countries around the world, vastly increasing its reach and exposure.
