PlayStation platform holder Sony is to roll out integration of the PlayStation Network across a range of its consumer electronics products, SCE boss Kaz Hirai has revealed at CES.
The new operations are to be directed by a brand new division within the company called Sony Network Entertainment, which Hirai will head up personally.
Product lines set for inclusion within the plan include Blu-ray players, Bravia TVs and Vaio PCs. A wider-reaching PC service is also in the works for all Windows users.
The idea is that a single login and wallet can be used across the range of goods, with various aspects of PSN being the focus of various products. So whilst gaming remains the main thrust of the PS3 arm of the network, expect Bravia TVs to focus primarily of downloadable video.
