Splinter Cell Blacklist plagued by problems on PC

Both the Steam and uPlay versions of Splinter Cell Backlist on PC have suffered some significant launch problems over the weekend.

PCGamesN reports that the Steam version in several territories outside of the UK, US, Canada and Australia remains unplayable, with the ‘pre-load’ button not yet being replaced by a ‘play’ button despite the game’s release last Friday.

In addition, the uPlay version of the game has also proved problematic for some users.

Many installing the game have encountered a string of errors. More problems are experienced if the game is allowed to auto-patch, with users instead being urged to install the 1.7GB patch manually.
Even then, crashes and launch failures continue to bug the game.

As is often the case in these circumstances, much of the uproar has concerned the lack of feedback for buyers who have taken to Ubisoft’s forums in search of help.

Splinter Cell Blacklist entered the UK charts at No.2 today, behind Saints Row IV but ahead of Disney Infinity.
