Spurs launches internet kids’ game Tottenham Turfies

London football club Tottenham Hotspur has launched a new children’s internet game called Tottenham Turfies.

It will be playable in browsers and will also be released on both Android and iOS. Spurs reckons it’s the world’s first fully-interactive digital experience for children to be created and developed by a football club”.

The game stars the customisable Turfies who live amongst the grass on the pitch at White Hart Lane. Lots of mini-games are available, all of which feature online leaderboards.

There’s also the chance to win real-life prizes for the star performers. These include attending training sessions, stadium tours and Spurs merchandise. Those attending games and activities at White Hart Lane will also get their hands on codes that offer in-game extras.

We wanted to make Tottenham Hotspur Football Club more accessible to a younger age group and reach out to the next generation of fans around the world who will play a vital role in the future of the club,” Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said.

This platform represents a significant investment and we believe this fun and entertaining concept is the perfect way to engage our younger fans like never before.”

Striker Jermain Defoe, who has apparently tried the game, added: When I was a young boy, we had football stickers to swap in the playground, but I would have loved to have been able to play against my friends online and create my own Turfie.”
