Nintendo has announced the release of an animated short based on the Star Fox franchise to celebrate the upcoming launch of Star Fox Zero on Wii U.
Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins will be live-streamed worldwide on April 20th at 11pm UK time and can be viewed here.
The short will also be available from 7am the next morning (April 21st) on Nintendo UK’s YouTube channel.
After this world premiere, Nintendo is also organising a special Nintendo Treehouse: Live featuring Star Fox Zero and tower defense title Star Fox Guard. Both are launching on Wii U on April 22nd.
A new Star Fox game was confirmed by its creatorShigeru Miyamotoat E3 2014. The title – now called Star Fox Zero – resurfaced at E3 the following year. It was also revealed that Platinum Game was helping develop the title.
Originally sett for a 2015 release, Star Fox Zero was delayed until 2016. The game’s current April release was confirmed in November 2015.
