Star Wars: The Old Republic gets free-to-play trial

The millions of voices that suddenly cried out in terror when they discovered that Star Wars: The Old Republic would have a monthly subscription have been suddenly silenced.

No, your eyes have not deceived you – EA has announced that a free trial of the MMO is now available that allows gamers to experience the title for free until their character reaches level 15.

Players will be able to experience all eight character classes in their attempt to become as powerful as the Emperor has foreseen and dabble in a spot of PvP to prove that their skills are now complete.

Furthermore, those who wish to sign up upon completing the trial will be able to carry their character and skills across, whether they be hokey religions, ancient weapons or a good blaster.
