The second act in the StarCraft II trilogy sold around 1.1m copies worldwide in its first two days of availability, Blizzard has announced.
Heart of the Swarm’s good start lags a bit behind StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, which sold 1.5m in its first 48 hours following its launch in August 2010.
The company states the figure takes into account both retail and digital sales via Battle.net, though there was no mention of how the total split. It’s also unclear how the game has sold in the week following the two-day launch period.
Blizzard also shares that TwitchTV reported 1.1m viewers were on board at some point for the day-long launch event broadcast, with a peak concurrent viewership of 125k.
StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm launched on PC and Mac earlier this month.
