Publisher EA has received some very public backing over the weekend from two very high profile celebrities – Stephen Fry and Charlie Brooker.
Their vocal backing comes as EA faces increased criticism from anti-gay protestors (mainly in the US and mainly from religious groups) over the ability of Mass Effect players to have same-sex relationships if they so choose.
Star Wars: The Old Republic has also irked the right wing masses by offering similar possibilities.
“If you do 0 else today, do join me and @Yoda to help game-maker @ea stand strong against anti gay hate & the dark side http://www.allout.org/theforce,” Fry tweeted yesterday.
Brooker later added: “Good for @EA for telling the homophobes to fuck off. Petition herehttp://www.allout.org/en/actions/theforce or you could just tweet @EA”
