Stuart Galbraith quits Future for IGN

IGN Entertainment UK has confirmed the appointment of Stuart Galbraith as head of games, MCV can reveal.

Galbraith joins from Future where he was most recently working as associate publisher for games and entertainment. He was working on titles including Official Xbox Magazine, Xbox World and SFX.

Previous to that he was employed as brand director for Kerrang!, Mojo and Q.

At IGN he will report to head of entertainment Chris Shepperson. He is tasked with working closely with publishers and media agencies, as well as identifying new revenue opportunities from within the games industry.

“The chance to work on IGN’s market-leading brands is very exciting,” Galbraith said of the appointment. “AskMen and IGN attract millions of users every month in the UK, making them a compelling proposition for advertisers who want to target an influential group of male consumers.”

IGN’s commercial director Adam Hopkinson added: “Our brands have recorded significant revenue growth over the last year, and we’ve grown our client base.

“I’m confident Stuart can help take us to the next level – thanks to his sales and publishing experience and excellent reputation across the games industry.”
