Take-Two looking at pre-owned crackdown

In what is quickly becoming a very common trend, Take-Two has admitted that it is investigating the possibility of embracing the recent trend for including DLC codes in the boxes of their releases.

The scheme offers free digital content to those buy their games brand new, but requires those who buy the titles second hand to cough up a one-off payment if they wish to access the same content.

It’s a policy that in recent weeks has been adopted by EA, Sony and most recently Codemasters.

We’re looking at it,” publisher execs admitted in a recent investor call, according to Kotaku. The key thing is we have to be consumer friendly and we have to be retail friendly.

I think it’s much more interesting to focus on things like downloadable content, but that said, anything’s possible and we’re not ruling anything out.”
