Take-Two's Zelnick "sceptical" about Wii U

One major games publisher has admitted that he remains to be convinced about the prospects of core games titles on Nintendo’s Wii U.

As it always does when a new generation is approaching, Nintendo has made big noise about the presence of core IP on its upcoming machine, with Ubisoft having announced ZombiU and Assassin’s Creed III for the console.

Take-Two, while supporting the Wii U with kids and sports IP, has kept core console IP away from the machine for now.

"We haven't announced anything [for Wii U]," CEO Strauss Zelnick told Gamasutra. "I'm sceptical."

It’s a different story when it comes to the PS4 and Xbox 720, however.

"For a company like ours, it's a great opportunity," he added. "[New console launches] separate the winners from the losers – and we fully expect to be one of the winners.

"I don't want to minimize the challenge of creating titles for new technology or the economic challenges of doing that, but if you get it right, it's a terrific time to launch a new IP."
