TalkSPORT ramps up games coverage

A new video games feature will be aired on talkSPORT.

It’s part of a bid by the station’s owners – UTV Media – to attract games publishers.

The company says it wants to sell games via its talkSPORT site and run more reviews in Sport magazine.

UTV says it’s teaming up with Future Publishing to help populate Sport and talkSPORT’s ‘on-air features’.

69 per cent of listeners said they play games regularly and 79 per cent of which said they had played in the last week,” talkSPORT and Sport magazine sales director Kurt Edwards told MCV.

So talkSPORT alone has a gaming audience of nearly 3m adults every month and yet we seldom mention gaming across our platforms.

That’s why talkSPORT will be introducing a new weekly gaming feature on air that will discuss the latest releases, which celebrities are playing and what listeners can expect from the latest innovations.”
