Team Dignitas sign Overwatch team

Team Dignitas has signed the former Creation eSports Overwatch team, as the organisation enters Blizzard’s shooter for the first time.

Dignitas has paid an undisclosed fee for the team, although a statement from Creation eSports mentioned that the team’s contracts were up for renewal soon.

"We saw the great potential of Overwatch since early beta and decided to invest in it early,” said Omri Pitaru, founder of Creation eSports. I’m glad I got to work with our now former players and wish them the best in the future. We will continue to be invested in the future success of the game as an esport and hope to announce our new roster soon."

The team has been one of the best in Europe over recent months, and booked themselves a slot in the ESL Overwatch Atlantic Showdown, which is currently taking place at Gamescom. Unfortunately they failed to win any games and finished in joint last place.

Dignitas’ new Overwatch roster includes, Seb "numlocked" Barton, Jiri "LiNkz" Masalin, Artur "art1er" Bischof, Jose Antonio "BromaS" Ramos Gonzales, Joshua "ToxikeN" Campos and Rasmus "Draceus" Waern.

"We’re overjoyed to be joining Team Dignitas at a time where both the organisation and the game are booming,” said team captain Seb "numlocked" Barton. It’s an honour to be joining an organisation as world renowned as Team Dignitas and we look forward to representing them at Gamescom, E-League and many more tournaments to come.”
