The Game Boy goes Micro

Nintendo has revealed a brand new piece of hardware to add to its growing library – the Game Boy Micro. Measuring just four inches wide, two inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, and weighing just 2.8 ounces, the silver machine makes even the Game Boy Advance SP seem bulky.

Game Boy Micro it will be compatible with all existing Game Boy Advance titles. The unit includes a screen brightness control, the first for a Game Boy, and users are able to interchange the face plate in much the same manner as a mobile phone.

Nintendo of America’s senior vice president George Harrison said of the unit, “We’re making the gorgeous Game Boy Micro for image-conscious folks who love video games, the ones who want the look of their system to be as cool as the games they play on it.” The Game Boy Micro will launch this Autumn.
